  • Colander for draining the cooked pasta
  • Large skillet or frying pan for sautéing the ingredients

  • Prep Time: Approximately 10 minutes (includes mincing garlic, halving cherry tomatoes, and tearing basil leaves)

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces whole wheat spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup baby spinach leaves
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  1. Cook the whole wheat spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about a minute.
  3. Add the cherry tomatoes to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until they start to soften and release their juices.
  4. Stir in the baby spinach leaves and cook until they wilt, about 1-2 minutes.
  5. Toss in the cooked spaghetti and torn basil leaves. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Give it a good stir to combine everything.
  6. Remove from heat and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the pasta.
